About 914 Yonge Street — 914 Yonge Street Condos
On top of the luxurious Rosedale Club in the posh Yorkville neighbourhood sits the 914 Yonge Street Condos. The building, which dates back to 1974, is clad in timeless brown brickwork and horizontal strips of reflective windows. The architecture is unlike anything being built in downtown Toronto today, which is exactly why some condo seekers fall for the building.
The tower at 914 Yonge Street reaches to 19 storeys and contains just over 100 suites. The simple lobby within is far from ostentatious, and the list of amenities offered to residents is even more minimalist: a party room and a meeting room comprise the only communal spaces at 914 Yonge.
The Suites
With studios starting at around 400 square feet, single professionals, young couples, and even empty nesters ready to downsize can find Yorkville condos for sale or rent here. The largest homes in the building, on the other hand, reach to 1,100 square feet and contain two bedrooms.
Regardless of size, each home at 914 Yonge feels warm and welcoming thanks to large, bright windows — some of which cover entire walls. And thanks to its older age, some units in the building have had the chance to be updated over the years. Some prior residents, for example, have opened up kitchens and exchanged older appliances for stainless steel ones, while others have replaced flooring with new hardwood.
The Neighbourhood
Technically located within the confines of Yorkville, 914 Yonge residents also have access to nearby neighbourhoods like Rosedale - Midtown, Mount Pleasant West, and The Annex. And those who like to get in touch with nature every now and then can always head down Rosedale Valley Road toward the Rosedale Ravine Lands, Riverdale Farm, or Riverdale Park.
As for attractions the immediate area, it’s unlikely that residents living at 914 Yonge Street will ever run out of things to do. One obvious choice is to shop (or even just window shop) in Yorkville and along Bloor Street. While the retail real estate in this neighbourhood is some of the most expensive in the city, fast-fashion shops are nonetheless interspersed with luxury boutiques on Bloor.
914 Yonge St is also just a short walk away from some of the city’s most exciting museums. The Royal Ontario Museum and the Gardiner Museum are across the street from one another, near the intersection of Avenue Road and Bloor, while the Bata Shoe Museum and the Art Museum at the University of Toronto aren’t too far off either.
Transportation
Living at an address like 914 Yonge St means never having to worry about how to get to destinations throughout the city. Residents without cars of their own can hop onto northbound and southbound subway trains at either Rosedale or Bloor-Yonge Stations; those heading east or west, on the other hand, can use the latter station to access the Bloor-Danforth subway line.
As for drivers living in the building, Yonge Street can be used to head south all the way to the waterfront, or north into North York and up to the 401. Rosedale Valley Road also comes in handy for those heading out by car: this road can be used to reach Bayview Avenue and the Don Valley Parkway for a speedy drive south or north, respectively.
