About 77-99 Harbour Square — Number One York Quay
Delightfully, since the One York Quay Condos are so close to the water, boats dock just in front of the building. There are few places that can compare to The Waterfront neighbourhood, and prospective homeowners should definitely take the opportunity when something becomes available in this landmark Lakeshore building, at 77-99 Harbour Square.
Built in 1991 by Greywood Developments and Stanford Downey Architects, the pair of towers at 77-99 Harbour Square stand at 40- and 39-storeys tall. The colourful red, green, and mostly blue cladding on their window frames and balconies, combined with their creative arrangement, gives these towers a rich and vibrant texture. And punctuating the buildings’ opulent impression, the podium between the pair of towers features a stunning entrance, whose façade is truly a work of art.
Behind such an entrance, the One York Quay Condos fittingly offer a luxurious array of amenities. Its 24-hour concierge service and doorman are hotel quality, and residents can enjoy an exclusive shuttle bus service, access to seven guest suites, a business room, a library, and a multipurpose events room. There’s even a bar lounge and restaurant located on the tenth floor, which takes care of Sunday Brunch and Room Service as well.
Lastly, the health club is remarkable; for working out, there are separate weights and cardio rooms, an aerobic studio, a combination indoor and outdoor pool, squash courts, basketball courts and even a putting green. Afterwards, residents of the One York Condos can unwind in a hot tub, saunas, or even at the massage studio.

The Neighbourhood
The charm of 77-99 Harbour Square’s neighbourhood is unlike many others in the city. Not only can its residents watch boats land at the harbour, but they can enjoy the Harbourfront’s many cultural offerings. The building is located right across from the Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery and the Harbourfront Centre, as well as the many festivals that happen in Ontario Square, Canada Square and Exhibition Common.
Additionally, the green space along the Lakeshore is abundant. Harbour Square Park is just south, and steps to the north, residents can find the Martin Goodman Trail. Using this path, one can explore many of Toronto’s exciting neighbourhoods and access many of its great waterfront parks, like Little Norway and Cherry Beach.
Transportation
The One York Quay Condos do offer residents a private shuttle bus service, though without it residents would still have no trouble getting around the city. Two TTC Streetcars routes stop around the corner from the building, on Queen’s Quay West outside the Harbourfront Centre.
The 510 Spadina takes passengers north through downtown Toronto to Spadina subway station at Bloor Street, while the 509 Harbourfront route serves the Lakeshore west of 77-99 Harbour Square. Both head a little east past then building, then take travelers up to Union station, where subway services, GO Transit, VIA Rail and the UP Express can all be found.
For those who drive, the One York Quay Condos are very well positioned. North of Queens Quay, the west end of Harbour Square becomes York Avenue. After following York for less than a couple minutes, its nearby onramp connects drivers onto the Gardiner Expressway easily.
