About 270 Wellington Street W — Icon I Condos
The aptly named Icon I Condos are just that — iconic. After all, Tridel wouldn’t have chosen the name without being extremely confident in their residences at 270 Wellington Street West. Built in 2002, enough time has now passed that the building can be seen as an icon of Toronto’s high standards and animation.
A residential building doesn’t have to tower above the city in order to stand out. Rather, the Icon I Condos stand at a humble 12 storeys tall. The mid-rise at 270 Wellington West is home to 247 units, and in case prospective buyers who fall in love with the building are in a hurry to make a purchase, they can check out the Icon II at 250 Wellington West to double their luck.
The Icon I Condos was the first building completed in a two-part complex, but both are home to a dynamic community with an especially young vibe. In catering to the younger demographic, Tridel opted to include features like bicycle parking and a cyber lounge when planning the Icon I Condos.
Residents were also clearly kept in mind when planning for retail spaces to be placed along the main floor of the building, one of which happens to be occupied by a grocery store.
Residents living at 270 wellington West also have access to a 24-hour concierge, a rooftop terrace with barbecues, a gym with an indoor swimming pool and cedar saunas (his and hers), and guests who want to join in on the fun can make use of the building’s visitor parking as well.
The Suites
Within the traditional, yet timeless façade of glass, brick, and steel, the nearly 250 units at 270 Wellington West range considerably in size. Homes start at around 450 and reach to approximately 1,450 square feet, ensuring that even buyers with families can find something that suits their needs.
Whether a prospective buyer is interested in a one bedroom unit or a larger suite with to two bedrooms plus a den, they can rest assured that every one of these Toronto condos for sale will be bright, modern, and comfortable.
Expansive windows allow bright sunlight into the homes, while true sun worshippers will love spending time outdoors, on balconies that are clad in glass. Some units feature Juliet balconies while others boast larger walk out balconies, however barbecues are not allowed in these spaces.
The overall aesthetic at 270 Wellington West is minimalist, with clean lines and open concept layouts setting the mood. Luxurious touches can also be found throughout, including hardwood flooring, marble window sills, and 8-9 foot ceilings.
Kitchens at the Icon I Condos will please even the most discerning of home chefs, with their granite countertops Whirlpool appliances, and ceramic backsplashes. Bathrooms are just as luxurious, ready to please residents who really love to relax: ceramic tiles, deep bathtubs, and marble counters are the standard.
The Neighbourhood
It should come as no surprise that living in King West and just steps to the Entertainment District is, for lack of a better word, entertaining. Whether residents are movie, sports, theatre, or music fans, or they just simply love any excuse to get out of the house, those living at 270 Wellington West will be more than pleased with this neighbourhood.
While other audience member s heading to the Rogers Centre or the Scotiabank Arena for a concert or sporting event will have to fight for parking, residents can simply stroll over minutes before the start time. Also nearby are Toronto staples like the Ripley’s Aquarium and the CN Tower.
Foodies will also love the close proximity to King West. Here, an elegant dinner can easily turn into a late night on the town, if one so pleases. And with the TIFF Bell Lightbox and the Scotiabank Theatre so close at hand, last minute date nights can easily take a turn for the cinematic.
Transportation

Those who drive can reach the Gardiner Expressway, a major east-west highway, in no time via Spadina Avenue. From here, those heading out on longer journeys can travel east to transfer onto the Don Valley Parkway or west to reach the 427.
